FAQ’s
What times of day do you walk dogs and make home visits?
Home visits are either 8am-10am or 4pm-6pm.
Our 1 hour dog walks are 1000am, 12 noon and 3pm.
Our 30 minute dog walks are 11am or 2pm.
Will you come and meet us first?
Yes, once we have had a chat either by telephone or email, I will arrange a suitable time to come and meet with you. There we can go through what service suits you best, questions about your pet and home so that we can carry out the service efficiently and effectively.
Where are my keys kept?
Your keys are kept in a secure, lockable box. I don’t attach any identification to the keys, just a simple tag with the pet’s name. In the unlikely event of your key being lost or stolen I will notify you immediately.
How long will my dog be out of the house?
This can vary depending on where the other dogs on the walk live in relation to you and what order the dogs are picked up.
The duration of the actual walk is either 1 hour or 30 minutes, and not the time out of the house. I will always endeavour to pick up your dog at the specified time but on occasions may be delayed due to traffic or other unforeseen circumstances and I will make sure you are made aware of this.
Where will my dog be walked?
All my walks are carried out in parks and green spaces where it is safe and interesting for your dog. I vary the locations in order to provide variety for your dog and I would be happy to discuss with you at our introductory meeting any favourite local spots that your pup has!
My dog is nervous around other dogs, will you be able to walk him?
Yes. If your dog is very nervous around other dogs then I can provide solo walks. However one of the biggest benefits of group dog walking is how much it can improve your dog’s socialisation. Therefore if your dog is nervous but non aggressive I can start off with solo walks and then slowly introduce him/ her to an appropriate group of friendly dogs, a little bit at a time.
How many dogs can be walked at one time?
A maximum of 4 dogs will be grouped together. This is the amount of cages that I have in my vehicle to safely transport your dogs so this number will never be exceeded.
Are you insured?
Yes I am fully insured including public liability insurance, care custody & control insurance & key insurance. My vehicle insurance also covers me for business use
How do I Pay?
I can accept payment upfront via cash or bank transfer. Alternatively I can invoice in arrears and send invoices at the end of the month for that months walks.
Will I be charged if I cancel a walk at short notice?
I ask that you give me 24 hours notice when cancelling a service and you will not be charged. If I am given less than 24 hours notice you may still be charged for the service
Do you walk all breeds?
Yes I walk all breeds as long as they are not on the UK banned list
Will you let my dog off the lead?
I am only allowed to let your dog off the lead with your permission otherwise I wouldn’t be covered by my insurance.
Do you towel down the dogs and give them fresh water and food after a walk?
Absolutely, with our British climate it can get quite muddy in the woods and parks. I ensure each dog is safely returned home, towel dried, given fresh water and food if specified and are settled down before we say our goodbyes.
Do you take photos or videos?
With your permission yes. I post these on my Facebook page, Instagram and gallery section of the website for you to have a look at what fun your pet has been up to.
What happens if my pet becomes ill or injured?
I will contact you immediately and agree how to proceed. Should the situation require medical help, with your permission, I will take the pet to the vet. Any medical intervention required will only be given with your authorisation. If I couldn’t get hold of you the vet will take the decision on how to care for your pet.
